Pocket Car Inspector, taken right from the
book)
Introduction
THE "INSIDER SECRETS"
POCKET CAR INSPECTOR
When purchasing
a used car, there are certain important warning signs to look for that can
help you determine whether you are buying a car that is in good shape (and
has a high resale value) or whether you are buying a car that hasn't been
maintained properly, thus is in bad shape, and has a low resale value. Soon
you will learn how to spot these warning signs and avoid getting stuck with
a car that is in bad condition.
This ebook
is divided in two main sections:
-
The Inspection
Start to Finish Explained, (Parts 1-5 of the inspection) and
-
The "Informed" Car Buyers
Checklist, (Checklist and Evaluation Worksheet).
The Inspection
Start to Finish - Explained
This part of the ebook (Parts 1-5) is educational. It
goes through the entire used car inspection procedure, step by step, explaining
in laymen's terms and with real photo examples, exactly what to do and what
to look for when examining a used car.
The "Informed" Car Buyer's
Checklist
This part of the ebook is practical. It is the same info contained
in Parts 1-5 (mentioned above), however it's in the form of a convenient
checklist. It let's you perform everything you learned (in the same
order too) without having to search through or read a whole book every time
you check out a used car. It tell's you what area to inspect, how to do it,
what to look for, what each condition you find is an indication of, and best
of all, it does it in a convenient chart format, so you can really cross
reference your results. The "Informed" Car Buyer's Checklist is an essential
time saving tool that makes inspecting a used car quick, easy, and hassle
free!
How to use this
eBook.
Read Parts 1-5 of this ebook first so that you are completely
familiar with the entire inspection procedure, and then use the Checklist
every time you do a used car inspection. Print out as many copies as you
need, and check off each problem item as you inspect and uncover it.
Safety First
Always be very careful and make safety a top priority when
performing any of the tests below, especially when touching or rubbing surfaces
such as glass, mirrors, steel belted tires, metal, rusty metal, hot radiators,
or any other sharp or potentially hazardous area of an automobile.
Before Beginning
Before beginning the inspection, it is important for you to
understand that the tests you are about to perform can potentially reveal
a lot of problems with the car you are inspecting. While all the problems
you uncover can make good negotiating tools, there are certain (major) problems
that you'll definitely want to walk away from.
Although, there
are other problems and conditions that can be major, below are the ones that
usually raise the biggest warning flags and are considered by most knowledgeable
car buyers as "deal breakers":
When you do
an actual inspection, watch for these problems showing up on your checklist.
After the inspection is finished go over the results counting how many times
the above (and other) conditions show up. You can record your results on
the Evaluation Worksheet, (included in this ebook). If your checklist
reveals evidence of one or more of the above "deal beaker" conditions, it's
usually best to just avoid this car. Basically you want to stay away from
major problems and use the minor problems as a negotiating tool. Of course,
keep in mind that too many minor problems can be a major problem.
Tools you will
need
Pen, Flashlight, Screwdriver (Probe), White rag and Magnet.
